On Saturday, October 28, 2017, the Delaware Health Sciences Alliance (DHSA) was pleased to highlight in its 2017 Global Health Symposium the latest in Refugee and Immigrant Access to Care. Students, faculty, researchers, and public health professionals from Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey enjoyed a Keynote presentation from Gil Burnham, MD, PhD, MS about Population Displacement and Health from both a Global and a National Perspective. Two panel discussions followed: Local Approaches to Refugee and Immigrant Health, and Addressing Access to Care Through Clinical and Educational Initiatives on a Global Scale. After lunch and a break for poster presentations from students from Thomas Jefferson University, attendees participated in a group discussion on either Ethics in Global Health or Health Professionals as Human Rights Advocates.
