Bridging Advanced Development for Exceptional Rehabilitation (BADER)
Led by the University of Delaware, the BADER Consortium is establishing evidence-based orthopedic rehabilitation for wounded warriors so that each patient can reach his or her optimal level of function. The BADER Consortium brings together researchers, health professionals and physicians from the University of Delaware; Spaulding/Harvard Rehabilitation Hospital; the University of Texas at Austin; Christiana Care Health System; the Mayo Clinic; the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va.; the Naval Medical Center in San Diego; San Antonio Military Medical Center; Walter Reed Army Medical Center; C-Motion Inc. in Germantown, Md.; and the University of Michigan. Funding is provided by the United States Department of Defense’s Office of Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program through its Orthopedic Rehabilitation Clinical Consortium.
Center for Translational Cancer Research (CTCR)
The Center for Translational Cancer Research (CTCR) aims to foster the immediate translation of results from ongoing clinical trials into improved patient treatment planning and health decision making. The CTCR also seeks to establish a pipeline of translational cancer researchers and clinicians by developing a program that starts at the undergraduate level and continues to provide training throughout the graduate and post-graduate levels.
Delaware Cardiovascular Research Center (DCRC)
The Delaware Cardiovascular Research Center (DCRC) brings together over 50 researchers, physicians, and educators to focus on ways to prevent and treat cardiac, vascular, and blood diseases. These investigators encompass more than 20 specialties: from epidemiology and pharmacology to preventive cardiology and cardiovascular surgery. They tackle cardiovascular problems through basic research, clinical investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and public education. The Center provides a focal point for interdisciplinary research and training as well as state of the art instrumentation and facilities.
Delaware Clinical and Translational Research (DE-CTR) Network
The Delaware Clinical and Translational Research (DE-CTR) Network is a regional partnership comprised of four partner institutions in two states – Delaware and South Carolina: The University of Delaware, Christiana Care Health System, Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children, and the Medical University of South Carolina with the goal of developing the infrastructure to facilitate the growth of Clinical and Translational Research in its partner states.
Delaware INBRE
The purpose of the Delaware IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) is to create an inter-institutional biomedical research capability, by developing a statewide pipeline of capable and competitive biomedical research personnel who can successfully compete for biomedical research grants, funded by NIH and other agencies.
Delaware Rehabilitation Institute (DRI)
The Delaware Rehabilitation Institute (DRI) is devoted to research, education and practice in rehabilitation. Their mission is to find innovative and improved ways to help people recover from injury and disease by providing an intellectual hub for clinicians, scientists, engineers and policy-makers to work together to improve the state of the art in rehabilitation medicine. Their research ranges from the bench to the bedside, enabling them to take their breakthrough findings from the laboratory to the clinic and provide rehabilitation to the people of Delaware in all phases of the lifespan from infants to the elderly.
Delaware Valley Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (DVICTS)
The Delaware Valley Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (DVICTS) is dedicated to the collaborative application of clinical and translational science methodologies at its partner institutions through support for, and integration of, teams of investigators who will identify and deploy innovative bi-directional solutions to enhance the quality of clinical and translational research.
