2018 DIMER-DHSA-iLead Medical Student Receptions

The Delaware Health Sciences Alliance (DHSA) and Christiana Care Health System – Institute for Learning, Leadership & Development (iLEAD) sponsored two Delaware Institute of Medical Education and Research (DIMER) receptions:

  • Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 4-6p.m.
  • Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5-7p.m.

Through DIMER, Delaware has a relationship with both Sidney Kimmel Medical School (SKMC) and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). Both receptions will be a celebration of a long and proud tradition of Delaware physicians who started their medical training through DIMER. DIMER has existed since 1969, as a means to quality medical education for the residents of Delaware, and to ensure that the same high quality medical graduates can return to Delaware for their medical practice.  DIMER ensures that Delawareans have access to seats at SKMC and at PCOM.

The May reception celebrated graduating 4th year Branch Campus students, and the August event celebrated new Branch Campus students who have committed to doing their 3rd and 4th year clinical rotations at Christiana Care, and those who have been accepted to SKMC and PCOM as 1st year medical students.
